I saw this PV a few years after it came out, and immediately fell inlove! The animation is beautiful and the worldbuilding seems so rich despite only a few parts being shown in 18 minutes. As much as I liked all the characters, 关潮 was definitely my favorite. His arc and him realizing he can't just rely on 石严/his coping mechanisms made him stand out to me (I mean, obviously, I don't think the other characters had much of an arc, but I still really enjoyed his character). Imagine getting so bullied that you create a BUG人... he's such a loser... By losing 石严，the one who was protecting him so much, he learned how to protect himself.
I don't really consider 石严 as an actual character, but more as a manifestation of 关潮's coping mechanisms. Instead of trying to really stand up for himself, he started imagining a world where he was protected, when no such world could actually exist for someone. You will always have to stand up for yourself, no matter how cowardly you are.

I'm gonna add more stuff like fanart when the full show comes out. I'm also still learning Mandarin (HSK2-3), and am using the show to immerse myself in the language.

THOUGHTS ON EP.1 AND 2
The show reminds me of FLCL. I'm pretty sure some of the backgrounds are based on FLCL, but other than the visual inspiration, the story will probably be pretty different. I'm really excited to see where it goes from here.
I love this show already. 关潮 is suuuuchhhh a loser, he wants to return to the past (probably) to go back to 石严, because he's unsatisfied with his life right now. It's not really explicitly said it's BECAUSE of 石严, but I believe based on the PV that he's only going back for him. He doesn't really understand the consequences of going back as he doesn't know he's a BUG人.
I thought 小一 was gonna be an antagonist, but aparently not. She is trying to help 关潮, even though she doesn't know what she's gonna use the Burning Stone for. Some people on 哔哩哔哩 said that maybe 小一 is a BUG人/SOURCE. I'm not sure but my theory is that she's an extremely powerful BUG Source, and that's why she can predict the end of the world. She isn't actually predicting it, but it's more so a prophecy SHE manifests, as it seems that she wants or simply doesn't care for the world ending.
百重 is a pretty fun character. I think it's funny that she wanted to gamble rather than help 关潮. Despite being the comedic relief, she seems to question a lot about the Memory Collection Center. I really like her! I hope her character gets expanded more.
I watched a little bit of ep.3, and 方糖 seems to have abandoned her old job for Memory Collection. We don't really know much about her character, so I'm not sure why she would do that. We'll probably find out soon though.
I REALLY need to watch ep.3, but I don't have a 哔哩哔哩 membership. I wish I had one,,, I'll prolly just try to ask my friends if I can watch on their accounts or something.
